School activities at Moll\u00f3 Parc are being developed within the field of Environmental Education. The purposes are to promote the interest for protection and safeguarding of wild animals that live in the Pyrenees and their habitats. Information and knowledge are essential to achieve attitudes of respect towards the natural environment.<\/p>\n

Knowledge of biology of the various species, their behaviour, the function they play within the ecosystem, the dangers they face, are the aspects that the Park activities are about.<\/p>\n

Who the visits to Moll\u00f3 Parc are for?
\nFor primary school and early secondary school students.<\/p>\n

Activities:
\nActivities are developed by Moll\u00f3 Parc’s guide, who leads the group of students (approximately 20\/25 students per guide).<\/p>\n

The bird area forms the first part of the visit, where birds of prey’s features are explained. Birds of prey like the buzzard, the sparrow hawk, the flying gurnard, the eagle owl, the tawny owl and carrion-eaters like the vulture can be observed very closely.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, the group makes a quick stop at the farm, where we can find rabbits, chickens, geese, goats, the Ripoll\u00e8s sheep and the Catalan donkey, all of them being native species.<\/p>\n

The visit continues through the rest of the Park. We first find the bear and then the marmots, where some children can enter to feed them. Then we will see the mouflons, deer, fallow deer, wild goats and squirrels (wolves, lynxes, wild boars and foxes may also be seen after May or June).<\/p>\n

These activities are adapted depending on the school level. They are carried out in the morning, and after lunch several workshops can be attended by those who want to spend the day in Moll\u00f3 Parc:<\/p>\n

1. Mammals Workshop
\n– Game to identify footprints and other traces from mammals.
\n– Let’s play explorers: Following the animals’ tracks
\n– Mud footprint workshop<\/p>\n

2. Bird Workshop
\n– Game to associate different habitants to the Park’s birds
\n– Let’s play explorers: Discovering the birds:
\n– Bird construction workshop<\/p>\n

Timetable and visits:
\nFrom Tuesday to Friday by reservation only.
\n10:00h. Arrival at the Park. Guide’s introduction.
\n10:30 h. Visit\/trip through the Park.
\nPrice per child: 8,00 \u20ac without guide
\nPrice per child with guide: to consult<\/p>\n

Workshops
\nEach workshop lasts one and a half hours and it costs 4\u20ac\/student (including team leader and material). The ratio should be 1 team leader \/ 20 students. It is important to respect this ratio as students need more attention during a workshop. (If less than 20, the price for the whole group is 100 \u20ac)<\/p>\n

Educational materials:
\nUpon group reservation, an educational dossier (per student and per teacher) will be sent by e-mail for the requested school level (infant, junior, secondary or college). This material allows them to review the most important concepts at school. After the visit, a short work sheet is handed out, which can be done at home or at school.<\/p>\n
